Tenrec's team is a small, highly-skilled group of Internet specialists. We provide our clients with a pool of expertise that is both wide and deep. We back that expertise up with years of experience in web development, design, maintenance and support. Most of our staff and affiliated team members have been working in Internet-related fields since the mid 1990's. If there's a web technique or technology you're interested in, chances are we've got someone who can help.

Per Casey
President and Co-Founder
Per oversees Tenrec's day-to-day operations and leads the company in its strategic and operational growth. As the Technology Committe Chair for the International Legal Marketing Association and an emeritus member of the editorial advisory board for Law Technology News from American Lawyer Media, Per is ensconced in how professional service firms utilize the web and web applications.
Since 1999, Per has worked with our clients, helping them to plan the development of dozens of web applications from websites and content management systems to client extranets and online document discovery systems.
In his own words:
We started Tenrec because we thought this Internet thing was new and interesting. Building websites and software (while working for ourselves) was also a fun way to make a living.
In just under a decade, web development services (for businesses) has gone from something that was 'nice if you had it but no big deal if you don't' to absolutely essential.
I'm very proud that we've been able to help our clients in so many ways over the years. We look forward to continuing that for our existing clients and all the new ones that come along.
Per works out of his home office in Portland, OR where he lives with his wife, Kit, and their two children, Ana Kristina and Per Oskar.
Mike Ingala
Director of IT and Development
Mike Ingala, one of Tenrec's key web developer resources, became Director of IT and Development in April 2007. In this new capacity, Mike oversees all development resources, manages Tenrec's IT infrastructure and evolves the company's technical standards.
Prior to working with Tenrec, Mike spent 5 years at Mentor Graphics in Portland, Oregon serving as senior web developer and team lead, Mike has broad experience in creating business critical web applications. As the Director of Development, Mike plays a role in nearly every project Tenrec executes, getting his hands dirty as the lead programmer in some cases or simply advising the development team in others.
Mike began his Internet career in 1996 after graduating from Lawrence University and discovering that being a furniture installer wasn't all that he'd dreamt it would be. Mike started out on the help desk of an ISP (Internet Service Provider) in Appleton, Wisconsin quickly becoming their webmaster. In that role he learned the ins/outs and ups/downs (mostly downs) of managing a website with Microsoft Front Page 97.
In his own words:
My passions on the web are standards based design and what makes search engines tick (aka SEO). The web is moving off of the computer screen and on to all sorts of electronic gadgets like phones and pda's. The days of authoring sites that "work best in Internet Explorer" or require multiple code bases to display on multiple platforms are history. Standards based web design means writing code once that displays accurately across all 'standards compliant' platforms.
Patricia 'Trisha' Hickey
Director of Project Management
Trisha, a Tenrec employee from 2000 to 2002, returned to the company in early 2007 to finish right where she left off. Trisha's primary responsibility with Tenrec is to make sure all projects are running smoothly and meeting clients' expectations. On any given day Trisha can be found developing or improving project management processses, advising project managers on best practices and managing a handful of her own projects.
Prior to working for Tenrec, Trisha was a technology manager at Bank of America and a process manager with Accenture, Inc. (then Anderson Consulting). She and her husband, John, have a son and daughter and live in one of many foggy areas of San Francisco, the Richmond District.

In his own words:
The Web has matured to the point that it's hard to remember how we got along without it, but it continues to grow and change. The most fun and interesting part of our job is keeping track of new innovations and incorporating them into our clients' sites, keeping them a step ahead of the competition.
Naoki Nitta

In his own words:
I'm a graphic designer who believes in raising our clients expectations for good design. I believe in providing strategic thinking and rationale for my creative endeavors. I love to sketch, play with type, and photograph my daughter and fresh vegetables at open-air markets. I thrive in sunshine and long to eat a good plate of pasta in a Roman piazza.
Frank 'Ty' Emanuel
QA Manager
Ty manages the quality assurance and testing efforts for all of Tenrec's projects. Developers, project managers and designers call on Ty when they need to know if an 'app' is ready for launch or if it needs more attention.
Additionally, Ty is an account manager for several Tenrec clients. In that role, Ty coordinates with Massimo and other account managers to effectively update and evolve the websites and applications of his clients.
Ty joined Tenrec in 2002 as our part-time internal business manager and accountant. Later he became our Client Relations Manager and then, in July 2007, he stepped into the role of QA Manager. He works Monday through Friday in our San Francisco office unless the Red Sox are in town in which case he can be reached at the Oakland Coliseum, Section 113, Row 12, Seat 8.
Ty grew up in Middlebury, VT where his family ran the Middlebury Inn. After graduating from college Ty worked in his family's hotel and wore many hats, everything from waiter to General Manager to, yes, maid. He feels that it was through this varied experience that he came to adopt a very customer-centric approach to work.
